Virginia Beach gang member gets 12-plus years for child sex trafficking (Virginia Beach, VA):: A 23-year-old Virginia Beach gang member was sentenced Friday to more than 12 years in prison for sex trafficking a child. Cordario Marcell Uzzle, a member of the Bloods gang, pleaded guilty Feb. 19. According to a news release, Uzzle, along with other gang members, prostituted a 16-year-old girl who had run away from foster care for two weeks in fall 2015.

 Portsmouth Bloods gang members plead guilty to heroin charges (Portsmouth, VA):: Two Portsmouth men have pleaded guilty to federal charges related to distributing heroin in Norfolk. Prosecutors say 32-year-old Theodore M. Vann, aka Flatline, and 26-year-old Antwane L. Williams, aka Neno, entered their pleas in federal court on Thursday. Court records say Vann was the highest ranking member of the Bloods gang set Gorilla Mafia Piru. Williams was Vann’s second in command.

 Roanoke woman involved in gang-related sex trafficking to be arraigned (Roanoke County, VA):: A Roanoke County woman faces charges related to child sex trafficking in northern Virginia and is set to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Friday in Alexandria. Yasmin Arely Vargas, also known as “Flaca,” is accused of helping her then boyfriend, Francisco Arturo Pineda-Torres, also know as “Cuervo,” in a sex trafficking organization in 2010.
